FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do your oils come from?

Poveda Olea is an Australian brand, based in Brisbane, sourcing from across the Mediterranean. We do not start with a country. We start with where a particular ingredient grows best and go there — the ancient Farga groves of eastern Spain today, and in time Italy, Greece and the other great olive regions, each chosen for its growing conditions, its varieties and how carefully the fruit is handled after picking.

Origin is declared per product, always. Our Spanish oils come from ancient groves in eastern Spain; when a release comes from somewhere else, the label will say so and so will this page. We are still finalising the first releases, and we publish those decisions in the Journal as we make them.

How should I store extra virgin olive oil?

In a cool, dark place, away from heat and light. Always keep the bottle closed.

What is an Extra Virgin Olive Oil Shot?

A 15 mL single serve of extra virgin olive oil — a simple daily Mediterranean ritual, with no measuring and no mess.

Do you ship across Australia?

Yes. We ship from Brisbane to all Australian states and territories. Standard shipping is $11, free on orders of $95 or more; Express is $15. Shipping options and costs are shown at checkout. Full details are in our Shipping Policy.

Can I return or exchange an order?

Yes. See our Refund and Returns Policy for how it works and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Are prices GST inclusive?

Yes, all prices are in AUD and include GST where applicable.

Is Olivita skincare certified organic?

Yes. Every product in the Olivita range is COSMOS ORGANIC certified by Ecocert Greenlife and made in Spain with olive-derived ingredients. The certification mark and the share of ingredients from organic farming are printed on each pack.

What does COSMOS ORGANIC mean?

COSMOS is an international standard for organic and natural cosmetics, managed since 2010 by an independent non-profit association in Brussels. To carry the COSMOS ORGANIC signature, at least 95% of a product's physically processed plant ingredients must be organic, and at least 20% of the whole product must be organic for leave-on products such as creams, serums and balms. An independent certification body checks the formula, the ingredients and the place where it is made. Read our full guide: What Does COSMOS ORGANIC Mean?

Is a COSMOS ORGANIC product 100% organic?

No. Water and minerals cannot be certified organic because they are not farmed, so the organic share is always calculated on the whole formula and is below 100%. The exact percentage is different for each Olivita product and is printed on its pack.

Who certifies Olivita?

Ecocert Greenlife, an independent certification body approved under the COSMOS standard.
