Poveda Olea is an Australian brand built on one idea: bring the Mediterranean table to Australia ingredient by ingredient, and be honest about where each one comes from.
It starts with olive oil, and with a particular kind of tree. In the groves of eastern Spain, Farga olive trees planted a thousand years ago still bear fruit every autumn — around five thousand of them catalogued, the densest concentration of ancient olive trees on earth. From there the map widens. The Mediterranean is not one country but a coastline, and the best version of an ingredient is not always found in the same place. Olive oil from ancient Spanish groves. Anchovies cured on the Cantabrian coast. Whatever comes next will be chosen the same way — by going to where the thing is done best, and saying plainly where it came from.
